How to listen to Chris Moyles on Radio X - Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Radio X? What frequency is it on?
In London it's on 104.9FM and in Manchester you'll find it on 97.7FM.
I'm not in any of those cities.
Radio X also broadcasts nationally on digital radio. You'll need a "DAB" digital radio, also known as DAB. They're pretty cheap from Tesco, Argos, etc..
The ones below are available from Amazon for £20-30.
My broadband internet isn't very fast and I can't get 3G/4G very well.
You don't need any internet for DAB! So there's no need to worry about
data usage. Just make sure you can pick up the digital signal where you are.
It's worth checking to see if you're covered by Radio X's DAB signal. Most of the UK should be.

My car/van/truck/lorry doesn't have digital radio.
The cheapest option is to get an adaptor. This will work with your existing car
stereo by retransmitting to FM that your car radio can pick up. You can get one for less than £60 from Amazon such as
the one below. To look for others, search "DAB adaptor" on Amazon.
I've already got a DAB radio but I can't find Radio X. XFM has a "?" beside it and doesn't work.
You'll need to press on the Autotune or Scan button (some radios may not have a dedicated button. In this case, try the radio's menu). Give it a bit of time and once it has finished scanning, you should find Radio X under "R".
I've tried doing this already but I still can't find it.
It may be that your radio is having difficulty picking up the digital signal. Does Classic FM show on the list? Can you tune to it? If you can, it means the Radio X signal is definitely reaching your radio. Look for Radio X, not XFM. If you can't pick up Classic FM, try moving your radio to the window and scan your radio again.
If you still can't find Classic FM you're probably out in the sticks somewhere
and can't pick up the digital signal. You can use other methods to listen such
as on Sky. See further below.

I should be covered according to the map but I still can't find it in the
car.
Your car DAB may allow you to search by frequency block. For England, Wales
and Northern Ireland, choose block 11D. If you're in Scotland, choose block 12A.
Hopefully you'll find a lot of stations pop up on the screen, one of which will
be Radio X.
I'm not in the UK.
You'll have to listen online. See below.
I already have Sky. Can I listen through my TV?
Yes, it's on 0113.
Can I listen any other way?
Yes, you can listen on Freesat 723, Virgin Media 960 and online via the Radio X website. You can also listen through their app. Look for Radio X in the iTunes App Store or on Google Play. Alternatively, you can listen app-free at
this memorable address:
lsn.to/XUK. Other smartphones are also supported via the app-free method.
Be aware that listening through your smartphone uses your mobile data allowance if you're not connected through wi-fi. We recommend listening through DAB or Sky/Freesat/Virgin whenever possible. Also because it's so much easier to press a single button to switch on to Moyles.
Will Radio X be made available on FM
to other parts of the country?
Not impossible, but very unlikely. There are no more FM frequencies available
for use by the larger radio stations. So unless other existing radio stations
are bought by Radio X, we probably won't see any more outlets on FM.
